Fabrication of Glucose strip prototypes for diagnosing blood sugar at the Biosensor Research Center

Researchers at the Biosensor Research Center of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences have produced prototypes of strips for diagnosing blood sugar. These paper-based sensors are non-enzymatic sensor that has high stability and lower cost than conventional enzyme samples. This sensor showed a detection limit of 0.397 mM and good linear behavior in the range of 0.5 to 5 mM for glucose.

It should be noted that achieving the desired technology for printing strips and optimizing conductive inks in the Biosensor Research Center, provides the possibility of developing paper and disposable sensors for rapid detection and analysis of a wide range of analytes such as proteins, cells, microorganisms, and molecules. In addition, the technology used can be used and developed in wearable sensors as one of the newest fields of medical engineering and biosensors.
